De Corazón México: Un homenaje al arte y la tradición mexicana
La artesanía en México es una parte integral de la cultura y la historia del país. Desde la época prehispánica, los mexicanos han creado objetos únicos y hermosos a partir de materiales naturales como la madera, el barro, la piedra y el tejido. Estas tradiciones artesanales han sido transmitidas de generación en generación, y son una fuente de orgullo y riqueza cultural para el país.
Es importante preservar estas tradiciones artesanales en México, ya que son una parte fundamental de la identidad cultural del país. La artesanía mexicana es reconocida en todo el mundo por su belleza y calidad, y es una fuente de ingresos para muchas comunidades al rededor del país.
Es así como nació De Corazón México, un espacio en el corazón de San Ángel que busca promover y preservar las tradiciones artesanales mexicanas.
En este lugar, se podrás encontrar piezas únicas y auténticas de artesanía como textiles, cerámica, joyería y más. ¿Lo mejor? Aunque creemos que propuestas como ésta ya existen, lo que diferencia a De Corazón México no es solo la calidad y belleza de las piezas, pero también el hecho de que le dan mucho enfoque a los artistas.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir a la apertura así como de charlar con algunos de los artesanos que se encargan de mantener vivas la artesanía mexicana.
Entre los artistas que estuvieron presentes durante la apertura, Dante Cruz Ojeda, de San Martín Tilcajete nos cuenta cómo todo comenzó hace algunas generaciones, cuando su familia se dedicaba a la talla de madera para así crear piezas para el carnaval de su pueblo.
«Mi padre y mis tíos se dedicaban a la talla de madera y yo aprendí a los 8 años. En ese entonces, a los alebrijes se les llamaban «monitos» y se pintaban diferente.«

También tuvimos la oportunidad de charlar con Macrina Mateo Martinez, artesana oaxaqueña que fundó el cooperativo de mujeres alfareras Mujeres de Barro Rojo (en zapoteco Raa´ unaa´ shte yú shnia).
La alfarería y la cerámica fueron unos de los primeros inventos del ser humano, en los cuales se utilizaba la tierra para crear objetos de arcilla o barro y se transformaban mediante la aplicación del fuego.
Macrina aprendió la técnica artesanal de su madre, al igual que muchas otras mujeres de su comunidad, San Marcos Tlapazola, quienes aprenden a elaborar piezas en su entorno familiar y lo transmiten de generación en generación.
A pesar de que la comercialización de los productos estaba reservada tradicionalmente a los hombres de la comunidad, Macrina desafió esta norma y comenzó a vender sus piezas. Hoy en día, su trabajo no solo es reconocido en México, si no al también al rededor del mundo.
José Luis García, pintor, muralista, escultor y ceramista que ha creado obras que han trascendido a nivel mundial también nos platicó un poco sobre su arte.
Para él, lo más importante para un artista es viajar, así como poder llevar tu tierra a donde quiera que vayas.
Los tejidos de Teotitlán del Valle se elaboran con lana, que se tiñe con tintes naturales obtenidos de plantas y minerales.
Los diseños son creados a mano, utilizando técnicas ancestrales que han sido transmitidas de generación en generación. Cada pieza es única y representa la creatividad y el talento de los artesanos, de los cuáles se destaca Misael de los Ángeles.
Él nos platicó cómo confecciona textiles utilizando pigmentos completamente naturales, como es el rojo de la grana cochinilla o el amarillo de los líquenes.
Misael también nos contó sobre sus diseños, los cuales muchos utilizan simbolismos prehispánicos.
Esto fue de las cosas más importantes que nos llevamos de nuestra visita: la importancia de cuestionarnos de dónde vienen las cosas y qué llevan detrás. Si has visitado Oaxaca, probablemente has visto tapetes provenientes de Teotitlán del Valle, ¿pero sabías que los diseños tienen mucho detrás? Misael nos explicó cómo uno de los simbolismos más utilizados en los textiles del lugar aluden a los 9 niveles del inframundo.
«Tomamos mucha inspiración de las grecas utilizadas en el arte prehispánico», nos comenta el tejedor.
